Isara Foundation Thailand

Project Description

Isara Foundation is a registered non-profit charity in the Kingdom of Thailand. Our projects focus on education, health, safety, and the environment. In 2007, Isara opened a free learning center in Nong Khai where volunteers teach English, computers, and art to Thai students of all ages. We also provide volunteers to many rural schools around Thailand. In 2011, Isara opened a community Recycling Center where our volunteers, who don’t mind getting a little dirty, enjoy separating trash and helping the environment.

Volunteer Information

We are looking for native or fluent English speakers to teach at our free learning center in Nong Khai or at any of the rural schools we provide volunteers to during the school year. No teaching experience is required but qualified teachers are welcome. A minimum of 3 weeks commitment is required but 1-3 months is preferred.

Volunteers receive free housing, teacher training, Thai lessons, bicycles, wi-fi, and 24/7 support. If volunteers prefer to stay off-site, we can help them find a nearby apartment but the volunteer must take care of rent. Couples are required to stay off-site for privacy issues. If volunteers are helping at a rural government school, a room will be provided by the school (apartment or homestay with a teacher). One-week of training in Nong Khai is required before being placed at the government school.

Come help us make a difference!

Location

Nong Khai, Thailand.
