Camas Outdoor Centre – Isle of Mull, Scotland, UK

Camas Centre - The Iona Community

Project Description

The Camas Centre is an outdoor activity centre in Scotland on the Isle of Mull. Our aim is to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds a opportunity that they otherwise might not get. Outdoor activities, Community living, Environmental sustainability and the isolation that the centre provides right by the sea in the Scottish wilderness can have a huge impact on how young people perceive themselves, look at others and look at the world.

Our mission statement
“Together we seek to enable growth in love, respect and awareness, of ourselves, each other, God and the environment.”

Volunteer Information

Each year we welcome around 7 volunteers to make that possible. As a volunteer you work in team were everyone (volunteers and paid staff) take part in the daily tasks of running a centre. And the most important part is to make is a unique experience for the young people who come as guests. Volunteer placements are residential and a small living allowance is included.
